| Why does the melting and boiling points of the elements Sodium Magnesium and Alu |

In my notes it says that it\'s because of the delocalised electrons, but what does that have to do with it when the nuclei of metals in metallic bonding are charged \'2+\'?sodium has one delocalised electron per atom and atoms have a +1 charge magnesium has 2 and +2 and aluminium has 3 and +3 the greater charge and greater number of electrons means that the atoms are held in place more securly and so they do not melt as easilyOther related question

What I would like to do is to tap a hole with 1/4quot;NPT threads or 1/8quot;NPT threadsThe piece is built from a 2quot; aluminum roundHowever, I would prefer to do this with a peice of machineryIs there a machine which will do this that is affordable? Can a drill press or low end milling machine be fitted with an attachment to do this well? If not, is there anything I should know before attempting this with with a traditional tap?Sounds like all you need is a tap, handle, the correct size drill and some cutting oilThe only difficult thing may be drilling the hole in the round stockA drill press with a vise would help with thatPersonally I think a drill press is one of the most useful items in any shopIt is probably the most used piece of stationary equipment that I own(Ok truth be told I own two but thats another story.) Cutting oil will make the taping part easy, WD40 will work ok for aluminum.Other related question

A can is made of aluminumIt has a flat top and bottomThe height is 4 inches and the radius is 8 inchesHow much aluminum is needed to make the can? use r3.14 as the approximate value and round to the nearest hundredth.surface area of a cylinder is area of top + area of bottom + area of curved surfacearea of top area of bottom Pir^2 64pi as we need top + bottom we get 128pi for the curved surface we need (heightcircumference of the top/bottom circle)circumference 2pir 16pi so heightcircumference 64pi so total surface area is 128pi + 64pi 192pi 192(3.14) 602.88Other related question

so i have to bake brownies and cupcakesbut i found out that there are kinds of pans that are dangerous and can cause cancer or Alzheimeri know that aluminum cannot get heated but why are stores selling those aluminum foil baking pans? are they different than regular aluminum foils? also how do you distinguish non stick to stick pans? also, does putting like a cupcake cup on top of the pan cause less or no damage? so if the batter does not touch the pan, would it be safe?which pan is the best to use?Stainless steel pans would be way too expensive steel rusts that\'s why aluminum is usedPeople don\'t eat baked foods every day which is why aluminum is usedUsually a pan that is non stick will have it written on the label somewhere they brag it up as a good thingCupcake cups do make the cupcakes look prettier and they come out of the pan easierMost people eat only one or two cupcakes so it is not going to be bad for them.Other related question

A train gutter is made from sheets of aluminum that are 26 inches wideThe edges are turned up to form right anglesDetermine the depth of the gutter that will allow a cross-sectional area of 54 square inchesThere are two solutions for this problemRound to the nearest tenth of an inch.Start with the two variables: x represents the height of each side of the gutter y represents the width of the bottom of the gutter therefore, we get 2 equations: xy54 (the number of square inches we are asked to find) and 2x+y26 (the length of the 2 sides plus the length of the bottom) simplify the bottom equation and we get: y26-2x substitute y in the first equation and we get: x(26-2x)54 : 26x-2x²54 put into the form ax²+bx+c0, we get: x²-13x+260 feeding this into the quadratic equation (see link below), we get two answers for x: x 10.5 and 2.5 (rounded to the nearest tenth) put that into the first equation (2x+y26), and y becomes y 5 and 21 respectivelyOther related question

More specifically, i would like to know if i was to get ahold of some metal 6mm bb\'s, if it would damage or break my A11 R.I.Sversion airsoft gunit shoots around 300 fps, and i wonder if using metal bb\'s would improve the guns accuracy and power, or just ruin the gunplease help.Standard metal BB\'s are 4.5mm in diameter and at best will just dribble out the end of an airsoft gunThey are also heavier than the 6mm plastic ones and the guns don\'t have enough power to push them very fastThe tips are orange because the laws in several states require it so it can be identified as not a firearm.Other related question

Does anyone know where to get an aluminum western saddle rack that stands on the floor and is arched?State line Tack catalogJust ordered oneYour local tack shop should have one, or be able to order one for you tooCountry Supply has them too, but I have found some of their products are not that good of qualityIn addition: I didn\'t order the fold up kind, I ordered a free standing saddle rack with the bridle holder on the front, and it has a wire saddle pad holder on the bottomThey also have one that has wheels (kind of like a saddle rack and a dolly combined)My husband also has a friend who makes saddle racks out of old beer kegs, they\'re pretty unique but very heavy.Other related question
