Hello, looking for some advice. I have a 6090 CNC router, which I use for wood. I would like to use it to drill 180 x 5mm holes in 15mm thick aluminium sheet. Having spent hours on Google looking for speeds and feeds I'm not really any closer to making a start. Is a carbide drill best or should I use an end mill? I do have coolant. Spindle power is 2.2kw. Any advice will be welcome

According to different classifications of aluminum sheet alloys
1. Ordinary aluminum alloy patterned plate: an aluminum alloy patterned plate processed from 1060 aluminum plate as the plate base, which can adapt to ordinary environments and is inexpensive. Usually, this type of patterned aluminum sheet is used in cold storage, flooring, and outer packaging.
2. Aluminum manganese alloy patterned plate: processed from 3003 as the main raw material, this type of aluminum plate, also known as anti rust aluminum plate, has slightly higher strength than ordinary aluminum alloy patterned plate, and has certain anti rust performance. However, its hardness and corrosion resistance are not as high as those of the 5000 series patterned plate. Therefore, this product is applied in less strict anti rust requirements, such as truck models and cold storage floors.
3. Aluminum magnesium alloy patterned plate: processed from 5000 series aluminum plates such as 5052 or 5083, with good corrosion resistance, hardness, and rust prevention performance. Usually used in special places, such as ships, carriage lights, and humid environments, this type of aluminum plate has high hardness and certain load-bearing capacity.
Classified according to different patterns on aluminum sheets
1. Five ribbed aluminum alloy patterned plate: Five ribbed anti slip aluminum plate, also known as willow leaf patterned plate, aluminum alloy patterned plate. It has good anti slip ability and is widely used in the design of building (floor) platforms and other aspects. Due to the fact that the patterns on the surface of the aluminum plate are arranged in relative parallel with five concave convex patterns, and each pattern presents a 60-80 degree angle with other patterns, this pattern has excellent anti slip performance. This type of aluminum plate is commonly used domestically for anti slip purposes, with good anti slip effects and an affordable price.
2. Compass aluminum alloy patterned plate: Anti slip aluminum plate, which has the same effect as five ribs, but is not commonly used.
3. Orange peel aluminum alloy patterned plate can be divided into classic orange peel patterned aluminum plate and variant orange peel patterned aluminum plate (also known as insect pattern). Its surface presents a pattern similar to orange peel, so it can also be called orange peel patterned aluminum plate. It is a commonly used pattern series product for refrigerators, air conditioners, and packaging.
4. Lentil shaped patterned aluminum sheet is a commonly used style of anti slip aluminum sheet, with good anti slip effect. It is mainly used for anti slip in carriages, platforms, cold storage floors, workshop floors, and elevators.
5.Spherical patterned aluminum sheet, also known as semi-circular spherical patterned aluminum sheet, presents small spherical patterns on the surface, like small pearls. Therefore, this aluminum sheet can also be called pearl shaped patterned aluminum sheet. Mainly used in outer packaging. The appearance is quite beautiful, and due to the special pattern, the strength of this aluminum plate is much higher than other pattern series.
6.Diamond aluminum alloy patterned plate: commonly used for packaging pipes or outer packaging.
7.Other aluminum plate patterned materials: wavy patterned materials, water ripple patterned aluminum plates, corrugated patterned aluminum plates (also known as aluminum tiles), rattan patterned aluminum plates, three-dimensional triangular patterned aluminum plates, strip patterned aluminum plates, pebble patterned aluminum plates, patterned aluminum plates, triangular patterned aluminum plates, butterfly patterned aluminum plates, etc.

What is this aluminum cladding around the window called? |

What’s up carpenters. It’s your typical dumbass sparky here trying to learn something. This picture is of my window obviously. I’m trying to figure out what to call this aluminum trim around my window. My goal is to replace it with something a little better looking, maybe not recessed? I looked up “aluminum window trim exterior” but it seems like there are multiple things that could be. Ideally I would like to trim around my windows and doors with some nice wood or just something more architectural and nice looking. So 1. What is it called? And 2. Could I potentially just trim over this recessed aluminum? It almost seems like it was installed as a flashing or like it’s unfinished if that makes sense. Also I know the window is weirdly low. I’ll be moving it up or installing a shorter window first. If you look through the window you can see the counter top and sink in the kitchen sit about a foot higher than the window sill lol Thanks in advance

1. Durability and Longevity
One of the most significant advantages of aluminum cladding is its durability. Aluminum is highly resistant to things like rust and corrosion, ensuring the material remains in excellent condition even in harsh weather conditions. Unlike other materials that may degrade over time, aluminum retains its structural integrity, providing long-term protection for your building.
2. Aesthetic Appeal
Aluminum cladding offers a sleek, modernized appearance that can improve the overall look of any building. Available in a variety of finishes and colors, it allows architects to achieve their desired aesthetic. Whether you are aiming for a minimalist design or a more intricate facade, aluminum cladding is renowned for delivering on both form and function.
3. Lightweight and Easy Installation
Compared to other cladding materials like steel or brick, aluminum is notably lighter. Naturally, this reduces the load on the building’s structure and simplifies the installation process. The ease of handling also translates into quicker project completions and potentially lower labor costs.
4. Energy Efficiency
Aluminum cladding can contribute to the energy efficiency of a building. It often includes an insulating layer that helps maintain internal temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling. This not only lowers energy consumption but also contributes to a greener, more sustainable building design.
5. Cost-Effective
While the initial investment in aluminum cladding might be higher than some other materials/resources, its long-term benefits make it the most cost-effective choice. The durability, low maintenance requirements, and potential energy savings all contribute to a lower total cost of ownership. This makes aluminum cladding a financially sound investment for any architectural project.
