Chances are, you're not relying on aluminum foil wrapped around your TV's rabbit ears to improve your signal anymore. But that doesn't mean it has been relegated solely to kitchen duty.
Aluminum foil is something everyone has in their kitchen, and it has a very long list of uses around the house, garden, and even a campfire.
For any of these tips, regular aluminum foil is ideal -- no need for the heavy duty or light variety.
Ironing clothes can be a pretty time-consuming process. One way to speed things up is to line your ironing board with aluminum foil. Rather than absorbing the heat and moisture, like your ironing board cover normally does, the foil will trap the heat and moisture around your garment.
Additionally, if you have an article of clothing that isn't iron-safe, such as a knit sweater, you can use this same method to steam any wrinkles out of it. Simply hover the iron about an inch or two (2.5 to 5 centimeters) over the garment and continually press the steam button.
2. Remove static from the dryer
A great alternative to dryer sheets (their static-fighting qualities, at least) is aluminum foil. Make two or three balls of aluminum foil, about two to three inches (5 to 7.6 centimeters) in diameter, and toss them in with the load of wet clothes.
The aluminum foil will help discharge any static buildup and help keep the clothes separated to speed up the drying process.
Keep in mind, however, the aluminum foil will not soften your clothes or give them a nice, floral scent.
3. Polish silverware and jewelry
If your silverware or silver jewelry is gathering unwanted tarnish, you don't need to spend money on jewelry cleaner. Simply line the inside of a small bowl with aluminum foil and fill it with warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and a teaspoon of dish detergent. Drop the jewelry in, let it sit for 10 minutes, and it should come out with a new, bright shine.
You can even use a slow cooker to get the job done.
4. Make cleanup easier
If you are about to cook something you know is going to make a huge mess, be it in the oven, toaster, or grill, line the bottom of the cooker with aluminum foil. When the job is done, remove the foil with all the mess.
You can also wrap the rack of a grill or oven with foil, but you will need to perforate it to allow air flow in many situations. Still, it's the same concept. Cleanup consists of removing the foil and throwing away the entire mess in one motion.
5. Sharpen scissors
If you're considering tossing those old, dull scissors, don't. Try folding up a sheet of aluminum five or six times and cutting it with the scissors. This should sharpen the blades and extend the life of the scissors.
6. Start a fire
If you need to start a fire in a pinch, all you need is some aluminum foil, cotton, and a AA battery.
Cut a 4-inch (10.2-centimeter) strip of aluminum foil, about a half inch (1.3 centimeters) wide. In the center of the strip, cut away foil to make a thin, two millimeter-wide strip, approximately 3/4 inches (2 centimeters) long. Wrap the thin connector in the middle with cotton, and attach each end of the foil strip to opposite ends of the AA battery. The cotton should quickly catch on fire, hopefully long enough to catch more kindling on fire.
7. Clean a grill, oven or pots and pans
If you're dealing with something that's particularly difficult to clean and you don't have any scouring sponges or steel wool, crumple up some aluminum foil and use that instead. It probably won't work as well as something that's specifically meant to scrub and clean, but it will certainly work in a pinch.
8. Curl your hair
If you need to curl your hair and all you have is a straightening iron, fear not. All you need is some aluminum foil. Simply divide your hair into half-inch (1.3 centimeter) strands, roll upward from the ends, and wrap the curl with some aluminum foil. Clamp the foil with a hot straightening iron for just a few seconds, and remove the foil.
9. Catch cooking grease
If you're frying anything that is particularly greasy, such as bacon, don't pour the grease into a bowl or cup like you normally would. Either line the bowl with aluminum foil first, or form a makeshift bowl out of foil and pour into that. This prevents you from having to deal with the cleanup of the grease, that you would otherwise put off for as long as possible. (It's OK, I do it, too.)
10. Soften brown sugar clumps
There are few things worse than starting to bake and pulling a bag of rock hard brown sugar out of the cabinet. You could whack it with a hammer or slam it onto the counter until you re-pulverize the sugar, or you could wrap the brick in a piece of aluminum foil, place it in the oven at 300 degrees F (149 degrees C) for 5 minutes. The brown sugar should be soft and easy to w

Your car is always listening. Not for your voice, like the Amazon Echo or Siri, but for an electronic signal, such as the coded "unlock" signal from your electronic key fob. If it's a newer car model, you might not have to press any buttons; just approach your car and the doors will unlock automatically. In some cars, the engine will even turn on.
Wirelessly unlocking your car is convenient, but it comes at a price. Criminals can easily intercept the key fob's signal and open your car without setting off any alarms. If you have a true keyless car model, they might be able to just drive away. Let's look at how criminals pull this off and what you can do to keep your car safe.
How your car's security system works
As you've probably noticed, you can't just open your car with any old radio signal. You need your specific key fob to do the job, and there's a reason.
A key fob uses a computer chip to create a unique code that it sends to your car's security system. The car also has a chip that uses the same algorithm to generate codes. If the codes match up, the car opens. There's a bit more to it, but those are the basics.
How criminals attack #1
Since each key fob/car security pair is unique, and each one can create billions of codes, hackers shouldn’t stand a chance. But it turns out that a popular system from Megamos Crypto isn't as secure everyone thought.
Researchers at Radboud University in the Netherlands and the University of Birmingham found that by intercepting the wireless signal just twice, they could narrow down the possible combinations from billions to just 200,000. After that, a computer can figure out the code in just half an hour and unlock the car.
In a real-world application, a thief could sit on a street and gather wireless signals as car owners enter and exit their vehicles. Then overnight they could steal a number of cars. Click here to find out if your car is at risk from this kind of attack.
Still, it takes a skilled car thief or hacker to carry out this kind of attack, so the odds of it happening to you are slim. But thanks to always-on key fobs, there's another risk that's much more likely to happen.
How criminals attack #2
Always-on key fobs present a serious weakness in your car's security. As long as your keys are in range, anyone can open the car and the system will think it's you. That's why newer car models won't unlock until the key fob is within a foot of them.
But for less than $100, criminals can get an amplifier that detects key fob signals from up to 300 feet away and then transmits them to your car. In other words, your keys could be in your house, and criminals could walk up to your car and open it. This isn't just a theory; it's actually happening.
Steps to stop car thieves
Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to keep hackers from stealing your signal. You can buy a signal-blocking pouch that can hold your keys, like the Hack-Blocking Card Pouch I sell in the Komando Shop.
If you don’t want to spend any money, you can stick your key fob into the refrigerator or freezer. The multiple layers of metal will block your key fob's signal. Just check with the fob's manufacturer to make sure that freezing your key fob won't damage it.
If you're not hot on freezing your key fob, you can do the same thing with your microwave oven. (Hint: Don't turn it on.) Stick your key fob in there, and criminals won't be able to pick up its signal. Like any seasoned criminal, they'll just move onto an easier target.
Since your key fob's signal is blocked by metal, you can also wrap it up in aluminum foil. While that's the easiest solution, it can also leak the signal if you don't do it right. Plus, you might need to stock up on foil. You can also make a foil-lined box to put your keys in, if you're in a crafting mood.

ou can see in the picture is the internal physical diagram of the cell. It contains a resistor and the cells voltage. Resistor that is connected here is not seen as this is not connected in the cell or it is outside the cell. It is the resistor that is of the cell. And emf of the cell is constant means that the emf of the particular cell does not change.
Ohms law: At constant temperature, voltage is directly proposal to the product of the current flowing and the net resistance.

Requirements for experiment: 1
Any metals like (aluminum foil), connecting wire, multimeter, alligator clip, cotton.
Procedure for experiment: 1
1.Take any alluminium foil present at your home.
2. Take anything that absorbs water in it and place in top of it. Not very much little bit only.
3. Add water in it so that paper becomes wet.
4.Connect multimeter into it positive wire or red wire upon the paper and negative wire or black wire on the alluminium foil.
Note: Never ever try to meet the aluminium foil to the positive or red wire of multimeter nor negative or black wire in water.
5. This is the small battery you can see in front of you can also make it. In your home if you want more current replace paper with charcoal. And add lemon in the water or vinegar. If you connect battery in series then you will get more voltage.
Advantage for experiment: 1
1.Lots of aluminium foil is wasted in the garbage after using it in the lunch box. This will give you aluminium free. You need not purchase it from shop asks your friend to give his used aluminium foil
2.It is eco-friendly.
3.Can be made anywhere. As it does not require any precious metal. Open your lunch box; take out your aluminium and then get start to make it.
4.Very easy to make.
5.Can be made anywhere.
Disadvantages for experiment: 1

| How aluminum foil could stop warrantless cell phone searches |

Can cops search your cell phone without a warrant? The question is tying up American courts, where judges are struggling to protect personal privacy without denying police a key crime-fighting tool. Meanwhile, smartphones now contain more evidence than ever before — and it’s become easier for suspects to wipe the phone from afar in the time it takes to get a warrant.
The legal question is going to the Supreme Court. But, in the meantime, a law professor is proposing a simple, low-tech solution: when making an arrest, cops should stick the cellphones in a Faraday Bag or simply wrap the phone in aluminum foil. Doing so would give the police time to ask for a warrant to search the phone, and also prevent the suspect from wiping its contents in the meantime.
The idea is set out in a paper by Adam Gershowitz, a William and Mary Law School professor, titled, “Seizing a Cell Phone Incident to Arrest: Data Extraction Devices, Faraday Bags or Aluminum Foil as a Solution to the Warrantless Cell Phone Search Problem.”
The paper, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, discusses situations where police arrest someone and would like to search their phone for more evidence. Under the Fourth Amendment, cops can search a person’s pockets and open containers such as a briefcase, but not closed locations (unless it’s an emergency). Courts, however, disagree on whether a phone (and its contact list, call logs, pictures and so on) is like a briefcase or more like a locked container that requires special permission to search.
Gershowitz noted that some police departments are using a device called the “Universal Forensic Extraction Device,” which can suck up the entire contents of a cell phone in less than 90 seconds so investigators may examine a copy of the contents later on. He adds, however, that the devices are too expensive to provide to every single cop and, that civil liberties groups like ACLU have challenged their legality.
The more low-tech solution is to give each patrol a Faraday Bag, like the ones at right, which block wireless transmissions, and sell for as low as $10. Here’s some for sale on Google:
Faraday Bags
Or poorer police departments can simply turn to Reynolds or another aluminum foil maker:
they can simply buy a roll of aluminum foil for $2 in a grocery store and leave it in their vehicle. When the police seize a phone, they simply have to wrap the phone in a few layers of aluminum foil and the chance of remote wiping of the phone will be almost completely eliminated. [empahsi
From a technical point of view, the plan appears sound given that several layers of foil would work the same way as a Faraday Cage (of course, police might need to unwrap it inside some sort of shielded lab because, as soon as the phone re-established a signal, it might execute a data wipe.)
From a policy standpoint, the plan may also provide a sensible balance (provided police don’t start seizing phones more frequently): it promises to preserve traditional privacy rights of those arrested while also giving police a key tool to, well, foil crime.

Aluminium is a metal and generally metals are good conductors of electricity. This is because most metals allow the movement of free electrons around them as they have only 1,2 or 3 electrons in their outer shell.

| Which is more ductile between copper, aluminium and mild steel? |

Mild Steel, Copper, Aluminum.
ductility measures the length of deformation without reaching failure (break). steel can be elongated greatly, though aluminum cannot. There are alloys that are more ductile than these and generally, steel is an alloy and not a pure metal like copper and aluminum. The chemical element chart has Aluminum element 13, and copper as element 29. The structure of Cu has more valence portals available to create bonds, therefore it can interstitially relocate bonding charges. Aluminum forms Al-O2 readily, and becomes brittle quickly with deformation. However, pure aluminum can be threshed to a thinner bonding precipice.

The materials of the sun room generally include "frame material", "top cover material", and "facade doors and windows material". Sun room frame material is generally the best use of high safety properties of aluminum frame, the top if it is glass, you can use steel hollow glass or high-end electronic control dimming glass. Sunny facade is made up of columns, profiles and glass. The general column is consistent with the top frame material. For example, the top frame material is made of aluminum alloy, the general column is also used aluminum alloy; if the top frame material is steel, the general column will use square steel. Column spacing according to the overall structure of the sun room and bearing capacity to calculate. Sun room facade doors and windows materials, you can choose steel doors and windows, ordinary aluminum doors and windows, broken aluminum doors and windows, aluminum composite doors and windows.
The Benefits of Aluminium Windows
Thermal Performance
High performance aluminium windows are able to meet or exceed energy efficiency standards. Aluminium windows and doors can easily achieve improvements in heat gain and heat loss through windows by 60% rivalling more expensive timber and uPVC equivalents.
Reduces Carbon Footprint
In the case of an average gas heated home in Melbourne, the use of aluminium double glazed windows delivers CO2E equivalent savings of almost three times that required to produce the aluminium frames, just within the first year.
Over the life of the building, energy savings outweigh the initial energy input by well over 100 times. For homes with electrical heating, or cooling for homes in hot climates, savings run into multiples of close to 300 times.
Durability and Low Maintenance
The corrosion resistant qualities of aluminium provide a low maintenance frame and is resistant to weathering under a range of harsh environmental conditions. Unlike many other materials, it will not swell, crack, split or warp over time; ensuring an extended product life.
Aluminium can be left in its finished condition. For additional protection or decorative finishes, aluminium can be anodised or painted.
Affordability
Aluminium frames can be significantly less expensive than other framing options, providing a strong yet economical window and door solution, while also achieving excellent energy outcomes.
Design Flexibility
The inherent strength and flexibility for aluminium to be manufactured to exacting specifications means you are limited only by your imagination. With an endless array of systems, finishes and glass options, aluminium offers a vast range of possibilities from the economical to most elaborate systems while also delivering excellent thermal performance.
Finishes
A range of finishing options ensures aluminium windows and doors can be perfectly matched to any decor.
Powder coating provides an attractive finish to aluminium frames and once coated, does not require repainting. The Interpon colour range gives you the freedom to create the look you want using a variety of natural colours to blend into the environment and colours to coordinate with Colorbond® steel as well as a selection of unique pearl and metallic finishes.
Anodising treatment can provide excellent corrosion resistance and a wide range of colour options. Such finishes are widely used for both interior and exterior applications.
For those who wish to achieve a timber look, DecoWood and Knotwood provide an attractive alternative in aluminium.
DecoWood and Knotwood are a highly durable marine grade powder coatings that look like timber without the maintenance issues associated with timber.
And because DecoWood and Knotwood never require painting, oiling or staining, there are no harmful VOCs released into the atmosphere.
Recyclability
Aluminium has one of the highest recycling rates of any metal and is an environmentally sustainable material. Recycling of aluminium requires only five percent of the initial energy consumed to create it. This inherent property differentiates from other framing materials reinforcing its sustainable credentials.
Short Payback Period
Payback periods on high performance aluminium windows are typically far shorter than for other alternatives which offer only marginally improved performance at a far higher price. Such options can take several decades to deliver a payback.
Advantages of Aluminum Frames
Slim Profile
Durable
Narrow sight lines
Low Maintenance
Light yet strong, aluminum windows and doors can be configured into a wide variety of combinations. The narrowness of the frame places the focus on the glass and subsequently, the view it offers. Multi-panel door systems are often made with aluminum frames to facilitate indoor/outdoor living. aluminum frames are available in anodized or baked-on finishes for long lasting color. Sealed, mechanically joined corners stay square and true over years of use.
Aluminum is not recommended in beach homes for while the material is water resistant, it can suffer corrosion from salt water and salt air. The corrosion affects hardware operation and frame performance.

Features of advertising display with aluminum :
1. Density: aluminum alloy density close to 2.7g / cm3, about iron or copper 1/3. This ensures the hardness and material specifications of the aluminum alloy frame material.
2. High strength: the strength of aluminum alloy is much higher than the other, after a certain degree of cold processing can also strengthen its matrix strength, part of the aluminum alloy can also be heat treatment to strengthen the treatment.
3. Corrosion resistance: aluminum surface will naturally produce a layer of dense solid aluminum protective film, this layer of protective film can protect the substrate from corrosion. After the artificial anodic oxidation and coloring, but also get good casting performance of the cast aluminum alloy, or processed into a good casting performance of aluminum alloy or processed into a good deformation of plastic alloy.
4. Easy processing: After adding a certain amount of alloying elements, good casting performance can be obtained.
