I am studying oxidation reactions and I need some experiments that I can do to demonstrate oxidationI already have the exploding gummy bear using potassium chlorate.what other experiments can I do?The chemicals used don\'t matter, legal or illegal.I have access to almost any chemical I would needHelp is greatly appreciated.Yankeefed said: The chemicals used don\'t matter, legal or illegal.I have access to almost any chemical I would needAren\'t you the dangerous pyromaniacWell, here is a nice tame redox reaction that will make you popular with your mother, not to mention the fire marshal and the chief of policeWrap tarnished silverware in aluminum foil and submerge in water with table salt (NaCl) dissolved itDo this in something that you can heat over the stoveGently heat the water and aluminum wrapped silverware for a few minutesWhen you unwrap the silverware the tarnish will be gone and the aluminum will be blackWhy? Silver tarnish is silver sulfide3Ag2S(s) + 2Al - Al2S3(s) + 6Ag If you omit the NaCl it won\'t workThe aluminum foil has a thin coating of Al2O3 that reacts with chloride ion to expose fresh Al metal to react with the silver tarnish.Other related question

And how long does it take to get freezer burn?Wrapped in plastic wrap, then in heavy duty aluminum foil, then put in a plastic bag with all the air squeezed out, I\'ve kept meat good in the freezer for up to a yearBut if you just wrap it in plastic or foil or just in a bag, I\'d say 3-6 months, tops.Other related question

I know that the \'77-\'79 was a suspension package but what is EVERYTHING that makes up the WS6 Package on a forth gen trans am besides the ram air hood? Also, what are the differences between the Trans am and the formula besides the fact that the formula uses the base firebird front fascia?WS6 in general is an performance/appearance and suspension option offered on T/A\'s and Formula\'sSome common dead giveaways of a true WS6 is the hood and the components that go with itThe airbox is taller than a stock T/A\'s to fit up with the Ram Air hoodAlso the WS6\'s came with a sportier suspension, ie, decarbon shocksBadging on the rear is a definate identifierBesides the badging, the best way to know for sure is the door sticker on the inside of the drivers side door where you\'ll see the RPO code WS6 The 98-02 WS-6 option consisted of Ram Air induction system, functional air scoops, 5 spoke 17 inch high polished aluminum wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 275/40ZR17 speed rated tires, low restriction dual exhaust, tuned suspension , and a power steering coolerTuned suspension shocks with slightly different valving, and larger sway bars The Formula and Trans Am are both available as WS6The Formula is basically a standard Firebird with the high performance drivetrain and doesn\'t have as many options as the Trans Am but weighs less.Other related question

Ok, I\'m thinking about making some cannolis, but I don\'t have the tubesCan I use a wooden dowel instead and is it safe???Also, is there anything else I could substitute the tube with?Wrap the dowel with aluminum foil to facilitate removal of the cannoli and to prevent the wood from absorbing a lot of oilThe wood may impart an off flavor to the oil.Other related question
