since i was worrying if this type of metal wire will have nasty effect on my sculpture while it\'s baked.i went to Home Depot and they don\'t have armature or aluminum wires so the guy gave me galvanized wire.is this type of metal wire ok?what did the package of Sculpy say about what type of wire to use? use what it said and nothing else Home Depot does have aluminum wire - it comes on a roll and they will measure it out for you and charge by the length.you may have asked for the wrong thing try cutting a very small piece of it and put it in a small piece of clay ( a 1 ball) and put it in ovensee what happensdid you tell him it would go into the oven? doesnt Sculpy have a website you can go to to ask questions about their product?Other related question

Why is water sold in plastic bottles and not in aluminum cans

plastic stays in landfills 20 years before it breaks down while aluminum cans can be recycled quicker. What baffles me is why people even buy bottled waterWhy doesn\'t everybody just buy a water filter system and filter it themselves? I bought a Brita pitcher for $18 dollarsMy experience has been that it filters far more water than what it statesI usually get a solid 3 - 6 months of filtration before I have to change the filterI use a lot of water, and I filter all my water for cookingI can only agree with some of the previous postersPlastic is easier to mold, doesn\'t require a lot of heat in the process, and companies are solely concerned with their profits, not the environmentI truly believe that companies that donate money towards a green cause, do so for the sole purpose of looking good in the public\'s eyeTheir practices more than negate any contributions that they makeFor example, one company states on the side of the bottle, The bottle has 33% less plastic in it than other leading brandsWe\'re a company concerned with our environmentWhat a load of rubbish! Yea their container is paper thinIt feels like a water ballon when you hold itThat company saved 33% in their materials bill by making the containers thinnerIf they really cared about the environment, they wouldn\'t sell bottled water in plastic containers! When I was a kid, nearly everything came in returnable glass containersNo worries about a landfill because the container was resused over and over again for decadesSure glass breaks, but I don\'t remember it being some big dealDoes an aluminum can rupture each time you drop it? I remember aluminum cans rupturing far more frequently than glass bottles breaking.Other related question

I have been struggling with anorexia and I have been trying to get use to food againI just ate a full bag of steam fresh mixed veggies with out butter only some salt and pepper and I had a piece of grilled salmonWell, yes the steamed veggies are good and kudos to you for not adding butter, which can be fattening and bad for your cholesterolBut salmon is much healthier when its bakedWhat i do with my salmon is i put it in some aluminum foil, and put lemon pieces under and on top of it, sprinkle it with red pepper, cajun, and chili powderand for some sides steamed asparagus and white riceIts a very delicious and healthy dinner hope for the bestOther related question

I need to make broccoli and cheese for Thanksgiving and I don\'t quite remember how to make it.I need to make alot of it? This is what I remember.I buy so many stalks of broccoli and boil it then cut them into bit size pieces and stick them in a ceramic thing in the oven and put the cheese on top to melt itMy question is, if I want to feed like 20 people, how many stalks of broccoli do I need, bags of cheese? How long do I boil it for? What temp does the oven go and how long do I keep it in there? Do I need to cover the dish with aluminum foil in the oven? I put mayo in the cheese to give it a good flavorI don\'t want a recipie just how to cook it, I\'m a novice cooker and thanks!Well, whenever I have broccoli and cheese, my mom cooks the broccoli first and puts the cheese onIt melts somewhat and then she puts it in the microwaveHow much broccoli is everybody going to eat? I would suggest 6+ bags of cheeseAt my house we go through 2-3 bags of cheese a month and there\'s 4 of us.Other related question

Do you know a recipe for a fruit dessert made around a campfire

All I remember about the dessert was that it had fruit in the middle (the crust might have been bread, but I don\'t remember) and that they wrapped it in foil and placed it right into the fireIt was outstandingI know they offer the campfire irons but I would really like to make these again and wish I could remember moreAny help would be appreciated.Well, wellAfter 38 years of playing Boy Scout, I finally see a beautiful girl cooking on a open fireGreat! You can let your Imagination run wild with this one For the bread, you can use bread, cake mix, bisquick, or the best is pie crustYou can choose just about any pie filling you likeEven the ones sold in a canLayer it how ever you want and sprinkle a little sugar on itBut here is the secretYou must either spray your aluminum foil with something like Pam , coat it with butter, grease, Crisco, etcThen you have to make absolutely sure the seams of the foil are tightYou are trying to make a little pressure cookerLay directly on hot coalsNo flamesTime will depend on the thickness of the packet and the heat of the coalsAlso, you can cook great foil packages of foodLike hamburger, sliced potatoes, onion, peppers, chicken, pineapple, and again let your stomach be your guide for combinationsInstead of greasing the foil, put bout 2 tbspof water in the packet before you seal itIf you can get some Industrial Aluminum foil, or double your foil if using store bought, your results will be betterNo seal means burnt food.Other related question

what are my options for transfering an image onto metal if i want to do it mysel

notice I said if I want to do it MYSELFPlease don\'t tell me what companies can do it for me!Well, we could use some more information Is this just a one time thing? Or are you going into production? What kind of metal? What shape is the metal? (Is it flat sheets, or curved surfaces, etc?) Is the metal small enough to be handled, is it mounted on anything? And thenwhat are you going to do with the image ? Is this a pattern you want to transfer to the metal? or is the image itself the finished product (like a photo)? Ok, lets assume you want to transfer an image to metal for the purpose of doing something to the metal itself, like etching or scribing it.maybe even cutting it to create silhouhettes, etcLet\'s seethere is the common overhead projector, an arts/crafts projector (this type is placed OVER the original, and projects it up on a wall, or screen), etcTracing paper, copier, etcTrace the pattern you want onto tracing paper, or photocopy the pattern, and tape it to the metalYou can even use paper that has a sticky backing on it.a lot of wood carvers use this type of paper to transfer their images onto the wood blank, for exampleI asked about whether this was a one time deal, or productionI know you can purchase a printer that will put your image right onto the metal, just like a typical desk printer uses paperBut these are a bit expensive, heheheOhthere is always lamination tooprint the image onto some kind of stock (paper or transparencies), and then laminate it onto the metalIt would help, if we had more of an idea of what your intentions were here.remember, more details will result in better answers, heheheHave FunOther related question

Compare the boxed notation electron configurations of magnesium and aluminum In general, the first ionization energy of an element increases going across the period However, aluminum has a lower ionization energy than magnesium Use complete sentences to explain why.Well, to answer this you have to look at the different orbitalsNow, magnesium has a full s orbitalAluminum has 1 electron in the p orbitalTo remove the electron from aluminums p orbital, it takes less energyHowever, magnesium has a full orbital and will not want to lose an electron as much because it is more stableTherefore; that explains why magnesium has a higher first ionization energy.Other related question

What would you chose between practical and good-looking ? I just bought an aluminium dish to keep the milk in it , and it keeps for about 5 days until the smell starts to change , and she wants a teflon pan that keeps the milk without changing smell only for 2 days! what should i do ?Why are you putting it in a pan? Aluminum is probably better as Teflon is not necessarily as safe as thoughtAluminum is pretty non reactive, hence not smelling as quickIf this is for a cat, I wouoldn\'t leave it out of the frig for more than a day or two anyway.Other related question
