I\'m looking for I beams 6quot; tall, or less, and 2quot; wide, or less, in lengths of 10ft to 20ftThe vendors have large bridge building structural steel but I\'m looking for smaller steel or aluminum stock for roofing projects. That flange width is a bit smaller that standard steel shapesfor example, a 5 by 10lb/ft S shape has a flange just about 3 wideEven if a local yard doesn\'t stock it, if you need enough they could probably order itUsually channel in used when sizes get that smallI\'m not sure about sizes for standard aluminum extrusions, I believe the proportion tend to be somewhat similar to steel shapesHowever, there are companies that will do short run custom extrusion (as little as 100lbs) of course you have to pay for a die, but if this is custom architecture a thousand dollars or so probably isn\'t that big of deal.Other related question

Lately, I have been noticing that my dishwasher has not been cleaning the way it used toIt leaves white film on all my black plastic utensils, my glassware has a foggy film over it, and worst of all my expensive aluminum cookware is laden with black build upAfter doing some online research, I learned that the reason for this is the removal of phosphates from dishwasher detergentI\'ve scrubbed my frying pans and cannot seem to rid them of this nasty black build upI\'m afraid of trying heavy duty cleaners for fear of ruining my pans even moreIf anyone knows of a safe way to clean my pans and return them to their original state it would be much appreciated! That film usually isn\'t caused by a lack of phosphatesOften that white film is undissolved detergent or etchingTry removing the film with white vinegarIf the vinegar removes the white marks, great! Run the pans through your dishwasher along with two cups of vinegar (no detergent)If the vinegar doesn\'t remove the film, nothing will remove the film because it isn\'t a film at all.it\'s tiny scratchesPowdered dishwasher detergent and tablets usually contain silicate (sand).and your pans have been sandblastedThe solution? Buy new pans and switch to liquid dishwasher detergentOr wash your pans by handI never wash any metal pan in the dishwasher, myself-Other related question

| Does aluminum have the same antimindcontrol properties as tin |

Or do I have to find actual tinfoil? That depends at room temperature, and at average \'on top of the head\' temperature ( between 60F - 100F ) both metals are good electrical conductors (Aluminum is somewhat better)so either would be a good RF receiveras pointed out, you need to also concern yourself with the ground in RF applications if the temperature drops, (below about 50F) relatively pure tin will degradeIf not reheated to stop this processor if it gets really cold (sub-zeromaybe -30C)then you have to worry about tin pest where the tin totally crumbles awayThere is a legend that Napoleon\'s (soldiers\'?) uniform buttons all rotted away, making them more susceptible to the cold on his ill-fated march toward MoscowOf course, if on the other hand, you are looking at bio-acoustic properties, Tin is known as the best and most tonally resonant metal [2 links from Wiki to Google Books] Therefore, a tin device could be much better at deflecting, or altering the properties of any acoustic waves directed at you [ I don\'t know that tin retains this best quality outside of (a) pipe organ production, and (b) sound frequencies we can hearlike pipe organs would use Sub-sonic ULF or supersonic frequencies , wellYMMV.] So, without more specific detail about the mind-control method (RF, acoustic, other.) AND about the way you intend to use the metal (Faraday cage, radio antenna, shaped helmet.) , I really can\'t be sure.Other related question

I just want to broil something for a minute or two, and I have 2 kinds of frying pansA teflon pan which I like because it\'s easier to use and a metal one, which is probably cast iron or somethingIs it safe to put a teflon pan in the broiler for a few minutes, or should I use the other one? I really dislike the other one because food sticks a lot.Teflon-coated pans really shouldn\'t be used under the broiler as the intense heat can affect the coating and its bond to the panIf you have problems with food sticking to your other pan when used under the broiler it\'s probably because there\'s not enough oil in itEven though you\'re broiling your food, you still should have just a little bit of oil in the pan to prevent stickingIf you\'re trying to avoid using oil altogether, get yourself some parchment paper, which you can find in the supermarket near the wax paper and aluminum foilParchment paper is infused with food-safe silicone, so it will not burn in a high-heat environment such as an oven or under a broilerSimply put a piece of parchment in your pan (or on a cookie sheet or pizza pan), put your food on top and off you go - no oil needed, no sticking guaranteedBon appetit!Other related question

can u make moonshine in a aluminum pr cooker ?Technically, it is possible.BUT, it all depends on the style of the relief valve on the lid AND your mechanical skills in order to adapt it to at least a 1/4 ID tubing system (3/8 ID would be better)using a drill press using a tap die set properly using a TIG welder using a tubing benderOther related question
