Takeaways love aluminium containers for various reasons. They will keep food either hot or cold for a reasonable period, meaning that the customer can enjoy a meal at the temperature it should be served at. They're easy to stack and store and don't take up much space, which is essential in a busy restaurant, and they're safe for food use.
What's more, they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, meaning that you can use them for a wealth of different dishes. And with cardboard lids, it's easy to write the name of the contents on top without every single container having to be opened first to see what's inside.

Recycling scrap metal helps the environment while saving you money and reducing waste around the house or business. By selling scrap metal and contributing to the process of recycling and repurposing brass, tin, copper or aluminium, you conserve the energy needed to mine, refine and transport virgin metals and lessen the greenhouse gases produced during this lengthy process.
Many metals can be recycled and used again indefinitely. A more sustainable choice, increasing the rates of metal recycling has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 300-500 million tons allowing scrap metal to have a positive effect on air pollution. Additionally, recycling scrap iron around the home avoids metals from ending up in landfills and waste after the costly mining process. By selling scrap metal to trusted recyclers, you improve the longevity of the material and take steps towards making the mining process more economical and environmentally friendly.

Aluminium is a non-ferrous metal with a huge number of applications. It is used in everything from construction to transportation to everyday household items. One of the great things about aluminium is how easily it can be recycled: it is able to be recycled endlessly without deteriorating in quality. Here are a few places that you can find aluminium around the home, so that you can earn some cash for scrap metal.
Cans and packaging
A great way to start selling scrap metal is to collect all your soft drink, food and beer cans. If you collect enough, you can get a surprisingly good return on these aluminium cans. Aluminium is also found in aerosol cans, so be sure to hold on to empty deodorant cans and cleaning sprays. Cans and tins aren’t the only source of aluminium packaging; the valuable metal can also be found in foil, takeaway food containers and pie trays.
Car Parts
Aluminium is being increasingly used in car manufacturing, and can be found in car parts such as wheels and cylinders. Once recycled, this mixed alloy aluminium scrap is used to make casting alloys for engines and gearboxes.
Electronics
Electronics such as computers, gaming consoles and even iPods all contain aluminium. If your electronics no longer work, don’t throw them out, salvage their parts for aluminium and make some cash for scrap.
Utensils
The kitchen is a great place to look for scrap aluminium as it can be found in a variety of kitchen utensils such as cutlery, baking trays and cookware.
Bike frames
Instead of throwing out your tired old bike, salvage the frame and add it to your pile of scrap metal.
Aluminium can be sourced from a variety of household items and is a great metal to trade in to your local metal recycler. Not only will you be able to get cash for scrap, your recycling will also benefit the environment. Metal Men Recycling accept all kinds of aluminium scrap and can even arrange a 24-hour scrap metal pick up service.

Aluminium Ingots are produced through the smelting process. Various grades of ingots are produced which are used for production of castings in Auto Industry as well as electrical applications. Ingots of various dimensions with maximum purity of 99.7%. Ingots are the material that is cast into a shape suitable for further processing. Ingots usually require a second procedure of shaping, such as cold/hot working, cutting, or milling to produce a useful final product. Aluminium Ingots are re-melted and further processed into a large number of products for various downstream applications.
PRIMARY ALUMINIUM INGOTS – these are ingots of unalloyed or alloyed aluminium cast from primary aluminium and possibly a small amount of runaround scrap
RECYCLED ALUMINIUM ingot obtained by recycling of scrap
REMELT INGOTS suitable for remelting – these include large ingots called “sows” (~ 500 kg) and small ingots called "pigs" (less than 25 kg)
Ingots for CASTING
EXTRUSION INGOTS intended and suitable for extruding, typically of solid circular cross-section, sometimes with a central hollow or a flattened cross-section
T-INGOTS shaped in tri-lock shapes and designed for efficient and secure handling, are used across construction industry, transportation, electrical goods to household appliances, T- ingots are re-melted to produce a wide variety of end products that cover the entire spectrum of aluminium applications.

An ingot is a piece of relatively pure material, usually metal, that is cast into a shape suitable for further processing. Ingots are generally made of metal, either pure or alloy, heated past its melting point and cast into a bar or block using a mold chill method. In the aluminium industry, ingot and billet play an integral part in the production of almost all aluminium products. Plate, sheet, foil, wire, rod, and bar products are all produced by pressing or rolling ingot and billet.

| WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ALUMINIUM? |
|

Secondary Production is the process of recycling aluminum scrap into aluminum that can be used again—an environmentally sound process that is 92% more energy efficient than primary production.
Primary production involves making aluminum products from raw material or ingots, which is highly energy intensive, especially electricity intensive. Secondary production involves recycling aluminum scrap to form new products, a significantly less energy-intensive process.
Which gives the name ‘Secondary Aluminium’ that is mainly made from scrap. Such ingot may include a proportion of primary aluminium if the right grade of scrap is in short supply.
Over 70% of secondary aluminium is consumed in the manufacture of castings, the remainder being used as deoxidizing material in steel-making and as a hardener in the production of other non-ferrous metals; small quantities are also used for forgings and the manufacture of aluminium powder.

Aluminum ingots is non-ferrous product that is produced by pouring molten aluminum into special molds. These molds come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and the ingots created by this variety have different types in appearance. Today, aluminum is the second most widely used metal in the world after iron. The widespread use of this metal in various industries has led to special attention to its identification and extraction from existing mines in the country.
