061 aluminum plate is the most commonly used 6000 series aluminum plate products, are aluminum and magnesium silicon alloy, the most commonly used are T6 state, T5 state and other states in the market , then what is the difference between 6061T6 aluminum alloy and 6061T5 aluminum alloy?
First of all, in the production process, 2000 series,6000 series,7000 series of aluminum plate products can be quenched to improve the strength of aluminum plate. What is the meaning of quenching? It is the alloy aluminum plate products heated to a certain temperature, then after a sudden cooling, in order to achieve the required hardness of the product. This is the T5 state and T6 state all needed to go through the process. The difference is that the 6061T6 aluminum plate refers to the aluminum plate to reach the high temperature instantly water cooling, so that the aluminum plate to achieve the required hardness. But T5 state is after high temperature then the use of air-cooled rapid cooling to achieve the required hardness. From the time point of view, T6 state water is cooling, that is, artificial aging time is shorter, but T5 state air-cooled natural aging time requires 2-3 days. But in the application, T6 state hardness higher than the T5 state, the price per ton should also increase about 800 RMB.
In addition, the market commonly used 6061T651, which need to add a stretch process. Because the T651 state is often used by customers to bend, deep punch and other follow-up processing, so when the aluminum plate in hot extrusion in production of the internal energy must be stretch fully released, if not released, may later produce aluminum surface bending, wave and so on.
