6005 alloy is a kind of relatively young alloy. It was only released in 1962. After 54 years of reproduction, it has now constituted a clan with 7 members. The 6305 alloy is the youngest. It was only registered with the Aluminum Association of America in 2012. Of these 7 alloys, 4 are American alloys: 6005 alloy (1962), 6105 alloy (1965), 6205 alloy (1970), 6305 alloy (2012); 1 French alloy 6005A (1972) ), one Dutch alloy 6005B (1989) and one Japanese alloy 6005C (2005).
6005 alloy is widely used for kneading general aluminum materials. All kneading profiles and pipes that require the strength of the material to be more than 6063 can be produced with this alloy. Same as 6063 alloy, they are pure Al-Mg-Si series alloys, except In addition to Mg and Si, it does not contain other alloying elements. Mg2Si is its specific strengthening phase, and Mg and Si all constitute Mg2Si. It has excellent kneading function and low quenching sensitivity. It can be kneaded on-line by kneading machine. The material with wall thickness ≤3mm can be quenched by air cooling. Another outstanding feature of them is their shiny surface, simple anodizing and coloring. 6005 alloy was widely used to knead profiles and pipes for products such as ladders, wheelchairs, TV antennas, and benches. However, it should be noted that 6005 alloy cannot be used to make impact load structures. chemical composition
