Anodized aluminum plate is to place the Aluminum Plate in corresponding electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid, etc.) as the anode for electrolysis under specific conditions with externally applied current. The Aluminum Plate of the anode is oxidized and has an aluminum oxide film formed on the surface; the film is 5-20μm thick, and a hard anodic oxidation film can be up to 60-200μm thick. After anodization, the aluminum plate achieves greater hardness, better abrasive resistance (up to 250-500 kg/mm2), and good resistance to heat; the hard anodic oxidation film also features a melting point of up to 2320 K, excellent insulativity, high breakdown voltage (up to 2000V), and enhanced resistance to corrosion (it may stand salt spray under ω=0.03NaCl for thousands of hours without being corroded). Additionally, the oxide film is distributed with numerous pores that can absorb various lubricants, thus making the anodised aluminum plate suitable for manufacturing engine cylinder or other wear-resistant parts; the strong absorbability of the film can also be well utilized to form various bright colors.

Types of anodization of aluminum plate
Structure and properties of the oxide film formed during aluminum sheet anodization
Advantages of the anodised aluminum sheet
(1) Good processability: the anodised aluminum plate is strongly decorative, featuring moderate hardness and easy bending and shaping; it can be processed by continuous pressing at high speeds, and directly made into products without requiring complex surface treatment, thus having greatly reduced the production period and the production cost of products.
(2) Good weatherability: an anodised aluminum plate with oxide film of standard thickness (3μm) stands colorfast for a long time when it is used indoors, with no corrosion, oxidation or rusting; a thickened anodised aluminum plate (thickness of 10μm) can be used outdoors with colorfastness under long-time exposure to sunlight.
(3) Prominent metallic features: anodised aluminum plate may have their hardness on a par with gems and are well resistant to scratches; they have no paint coating on the surface and thus have retained the metallic gloss of aluminum sheets, protruding the modern metallic features and promoting the class and added value of the products.
(4) Good resistance to fire: as the anodised aluminum plate is purely made of metal without any paint or chemical substance, it neither combusts at a temperature as high as 600 degrees, nor generates any poisonous gas, and thus satisfies the requirements for environmental protection.
(5) Good resistance to dirt: the anodised aluminum plate retains no finger print, and thus no stains will be left; it can also be easily cleaned, without producing any corroded spot.
(6) Wide applicability: the anodised aluminum plate is widely used, and applicable to metal aluminum ceiling, curtain wall plate, aluminum composite panel, fireproof board, honeycomb aluminum panel, single aluminum sheet, electric appliance panel, cabinet panel, furniture panel, etc.
Application
The anodised aluminum plate are widely used in such fields as mechanical parts, airplane and automobile parts, precise instruments, wireless electrical appliances, building decorations, mechanical housing, illumination lamps, electronic consumables, art wares, household appliances, indoor decorations, sign boards, furniture automobile decorations, etc.
Anodized aluminum sheet is processed by anodizing based on aluminum sheet. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that forms a robust ceramic layer on the surface of aluminum sheet that is resistant to corrosion and UV. The anodized film is transparent, retains the appearance of the metal, and can be colored by electrolysis to provide a variety of color options.
Anodized aluminium sheet plate is widely used in machinery parts, aircraft auto parts, precision instruments and radio equipment, architectural decoration, machine shell, lighting lamps, electronic consumer goods, handicrafts, household appliances, interior decoration, signs, furniture, car decoration and other industries.
There are also many other names of anodized aluminium sheets, such as:
anodized mirror aluminum sheet
mirror finish anodized aluminum sheet
anodized sheet aluminum

Aluminum circle blanks can be processed into many types of items, including pots, kettles, basins and lighting covers etc. It’s worth mentioning that aluminum circle blanks are usually welded or processed together with other materials in modern production of aluminum products, while in the past they were normally pressed into an integrated item directly. Take pots for example. A decade ago we used pots of both aluminum bodies and lids. Now, however, the base of a pot has been welded together to the body. The base may be of aluminum, the body steel, and the lid glass!
![[Image: 008-300x300.jpg]](http://www.aluminiumstrip-hm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/008-300x300.jpg)
Aluminum circle blanks used for pots are usually of 1050, 1060, 1070 and 3003 alloys. The tempers include O, H12 and H14. Their thickness and width are made in accordance with specific requirements. The thickness ranges from 0.76mm to 6mm and the width 100mm to 1200mm. Aluminum circle blanks have been chosen as raw material for pots because of its satisfying physical and chemical properties. Cookware must have extraordinary heat conductivity as well as stable chemical performance, or else the food will be cooked very slowly, or it will react with material of cookware. There are lots of metals displaying excellent heat conductivity, but most are too active to be used for pots. Aluminum is regarded as a stable metal not because it does not reacts with other elements, but because during its quick reaction with oxygen in the air it produces oxide aluminum, a strongly stable material that hardly reacts with other materials.
Generally speaking, the quality of aluminum circle blanks for pots can be judged by their colors. Silver blanks are of natural aluminum color, which means there’s only a thin protective layer of oxide aluminum over the surface. Golden blanks show much stronger corrosion resistance than white ones, because they are coated with an extra layer of paintings after being anodized.

8011 aluminium strip is one the most popular strips in industrial application. With low hardness, its properties prove to be better than pure aluminium strips. Common tempers for it include O, H18, H19, H14, H22, H24 and H111 etc. Its width ranges from 5mm to 100mm to cater for various application requirements. As for thickness, the most widely acceptable scope is between 0.1mm and 4mm. The strip covers a wide series of application, including materials for aluminum plastic composite pipe, cable wrapping, automobile radiator in water tanks and aluminum tube for kitchen ventilator etc.
![[Image: aluminum-strip-20-300x300.jpg]](http://www.aluminiumstrip-hm.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/aluminum-strip-20-300x300.jpg)
The specification of 8011 aluminium strip varies with different usages. While being used for aluminum plastic composite pipe, it’s generally made into states of O or H22. The thickness is from 0.20mm to 1.5mm and width from 30mm to 250mm. As raw material for cable wrapping, 8011 aluminium strip is usually of O state. In comparison with the previous usage, it becomes much thinner but wider. It’s only between 0.10mm to 0.20mm thick. The smallest width is 100mm, and the biggest 300mm. When applied for automobiles, it has a thickness of 0.08mm to 0.10mm and a wideness of 140mm to 600 mm, the thinnest of all usages. The narrowest of all applications falls on aluminum tube for kitchen ventilators. The strip is only 60mm wide. It’s not thick, either, only 0.10mm to 0.13mm.
All the usages above is based on one extraordinary property of 8011 aluminium strip–corrosion resistance. Aluminum alloys display outstanding anti-rust ability because the element of aluminum reacts to oxygen quickly after being exposed to the air. After the reaction strong and stable oxide aluminum comes into being, acting as a protective layer over the alloys. Therefore, they can be used in severe conditions like ventilators, water tanks and the open air. Besides, the other most existing shape of 8011 alloy is aluminum foil, applied in food and pharmaceutical industries for packaging.

The surface treatment of aluminum is a series of mechanical and chemical surface pretreatment processes in the process of surface film processing and combination. The surface pretreatment methods of aluminum are mechanical and chemical (or electrochemical). Mechanical methods include sand blasting, polishing, striping and polishing. The chemical method includes degreasing, alkali washing, light treatment and so on. The surface coating technology of aluminum mainly includes anodic oxidation, chemical transformation, electroplating, electroless plating and organic coating.

Sealing process:
Alumina oxide film is a porous film, which should be closed before it is put into use with or without coloring, so as to improve its corrosion resistance and weather resistance. There are three treatment methods: high temperature hydration reaction seal, inorganic salt seal and organics seal.
(1) high temperature water is closed
This approach is the use of aluminum oxide film and the hydration reaction of water, the amorphous film into hydrate crystallization membrane: hydration reaction can be performed at room temperature and high temperature, but especially in the boiling point at high temperatures, the generated hydration crystal film is the crystallization of the irreversible membrane is very stable, therefore, the most commonly used method of closed treatment of anodic alumina membrane is boiling water or steam method processing.
(2) inorganic salt seal
Inorganic salt can improve the fastness of organic coloring dyes, so it is commonly used in chemical coloring methods.
Alpha acetate process
Potassium silicate method
(3) organic sealing method
This is the aluminum oxide film oiled, dip coating or coating, etc., due to the high cost and increase the technological process, thus not used, more or using the two kinds of methods, and high temperature water legally for the mainstream in the first one.
The oxide film of al-mg alloy is easy to be formed and the quality of the film is better. It can be oxidized and colored. But there are also some drawbacks.
The first point:
The anodic oxide film has dual character, large pores and uneven distribution, and it is difficult to achieve the best anticorrosion effect.
The second point:
Magnesium is hardening and brittle, to reduce the elongation increases, the tendency of hot tearing, such as ADC5, ADC6, in production, because of its wide range of solidification and shrinkage tendency, shrinkage and cracks often, casting performance is poor, therefore, has great limitations on its use range, slightly complex workpiece structure, is the production.
The third point:
Commonly used on the market of aluminium magnesium alloy, because of its composition is complicated, aluminum low purity, sulfuric acid anodic oxidation, hard to produce transparent protective film, more white, the color is out of condition, according to normal process is difficult to achieve the ideal effect.

The main difference between them is that the melting point of aluminum foil is higher than that of tin foil paper and is more suitable for barbecue food.
Aluminum foil: aluminum or aluminum alloy by the extension of the equipment from the processing, the thickness of 0.025mm below the habit of aluminum foil, the thickness of 0.2mm or less called aluminum foil, the thickness of more than 0.2mm called aluminum. The density of aluminum or aluminum foil is 2.70 g / cm3. Melting point 660 °C. Boiling point 2327 ℃, the appearance of silver-white light metal, ductility and development. In the humid air can form a layer to prevent corrosion of metal oxide film.

Tin foil: is made of metal tin by the extension of equipment, with excellent ductility and development, so processed into the thickness of 0.025mm below the foil is very easy, even with manual processing, tin density 5.75g / cm3 , Melting point 231.89 ° C, boiling point 2260 ° C. Has excellent ductility and development, good corrosion resistance, low melting point characteristics. The appearance of silver-white microstrip blue metal. When the tin is heated to 160 ° C or higher, it is converted to brittle tin. Chemical properties are relatively stable, at room temperature does not react with the air.
This is the difference between aluminum foil and tin foil. Any questions, please contact us: alu@haomeicn.com
