Would a sheet of aluminum or sheet of stainless steel reflect more infrared radiation |

First of all, to have good reflectivity in the IR part of the spectrum, you need to have very flat surfaces, so you will need a polished surface. Stated that, Aluminium has far better reflection than steel. When not oxidixed. You can have reflectivities of up to 97%, with 92-95% easily attainable, while with steel a reflectivity of 90% is a very good value. Unfortunately, the reflectivity of oxidixed aluminium can be as bas as 70% and unprotected aluminium oxides much faster than stainless steel. The ideal solution is a properly treated aluminium foil (or a plastic foil with deposited aluminium). The only place in which I'd use steel is for a second of a two stages concentrator, in which temperatures could rise so high that you need a metal alloy without any plastic (either substrate or varnish). For that applicaiton, I'd go for stainless steel sheets.

What are the reasons for aluminum roofing sheet’s black dots? |

In the aluminum roofing sheet factory or the application process, sometimes there will be the above black spot situation, what is this situation? Let’s look at it. First of all, the aluminum roofing sheet materials, aluminum roofing sheet manufacturers produced by the aluminum roofing sheet cover is 0.5mm thick LF21 aluminum plate processing. This type of aluminum roofing sheet has many parts of the same material, similar shape and same process, but similar shape parts processed at the same time have no such failure. And it’s not the fault of a defective raw material. It’s on the processing technology, cover silver plating process for roughly: outgoing parts machining pretreatment ─ ─ ─ ─ galvanized zinc leaching plating copper electroplating silver ─ ─ painting 823 ─ ─ dip coating into the Treasury.
In the process of aluminum roofing sheet plating, first of all, it is possible that some production link of plating has changed, leading to failure. However, the investigation found that no such failure occurred in similar parts processed at the same time without any change in production conditions. Therefore, the factors of changing electroplating production conditions are excluded. According to the previous production experience, the most common cause of discoloration of silver plating parts is the influence of sulfur element on silver plating layer.
In the past, silver plated parts have not been packaged and sealed in time and stored in the electroplating factory house for a long time. However, the defective parts are timely packaged and stored in dry containers after silver plating. It can be seen that this is not affected by the air atmosphere in the workshop. In the spray painting process, it was found that the top cover of the spray painting processing, the whole batch of rerepair records. The most important reason is that the gap is not plugged, allowing the paint mist to enter and adhere to the surface of the silver plating layer and cannot be removed. In order to prevent this kind of failure, it is recommended to seal the gap with 3M adhesive tape in the process to prevent the paint fog from entering.
Through such elimination method, we found the root of the problem, and we immediately took measures to prevent the recurrence of hidden dangers, so that the surface of aluminum roofing sheet is as bright as new, and the delivery rate is greatly increased

What are the advantage and disadvantage of aluminum as compared to copper? |

The difference between aluminum and copper wire is largely in their usage within utilities, resistance, conductivity, weight and cost. Aluminum is in use by the utility companies for the transmission of electricity since the early 1900’s. Aluminum seems to have more advantages over the older copper wire in terms of weight, flexibility and cost, as it is lighter, more flexible, and less expensive.
Aluminum wiring was preferred over copper wiring largely due to the rising factor of the price of copper, and therefore, aluminum wiring was economical. Aluminum alloy building wires, called the 800 alloy, is also used for low voltage feeders, saving on costs when compared to copper, which is also significantly heavier in weight as well. Aluminum building wires have half the weight of copper, with 50% greater area than copper to carry the same current, but aluminum wires need a larger wire gauge than copper to carry the same weight. Increased copper prices have also given rise to the use of aluminum wires during the 1970’s. Aluminum wiring can be just as safe as copper if properly installed, as aluminum wiring is unforgiving in the case of improper installation.
Aluminum wiring has the ‘cold creep’ phenomena, as when it warms up, it expands, and it contracts when cooled down. It is unlikely for copper to lose tightness like in the case of aluminum. Aluminum oxidizes and corrodes when in contact with certain types of metal, whereas copper is safer and also more fireproof compared to aluminum. Aluminum and copper wire can also be connected together, but this needs to be handled with extra care, because if the wires are not connected together using special crimp devices, or anti-oxidant grease, they will catch fire once the conductor is heated. In order to reply to the question that if aluminum wiring is as good as copper wiring, we reply negative. Aluminum wires have potential hazards, and that is aluminum’s reactivity with the oxygen in the air which can cause a connection to overheat and fail, and possibly causing a fire. Due to this risk factor, copper wires have again taken the place of aluminum, despite the fact that aluminum is cheaper.
One can also compare the weight and color of the two conductors. Copper wire is heavier, and aluminum is lighter and silver grey. The other main difference between copper and aluminum wires is the resistance of the material. Aluminum and copper are both the most commonly used conductors, with positive and negative characteristics. Copper not only has a higher conductivity than aluminum, but is more ductile, with relatively high tensile strength, and can be soldered. Aluminum has less conductivity, about 60 percent of copper, but its lightness enables it to make long spans possible.
1. Aluminum wires are corrosive and can cause fire.
2. Aluminum wires are coated with special grease and wiring devices to prevent any accident due to heat.
3. Copper wires are tensile and higher in conductivity than aluminum, which is also less ductile.
4. Aluminum wires are lighter than copper and make long spans possible, whereas copper wires can resist more than aluminum, and can be soldered.
5. Aluminum wires expand in high temperatures and contract in low temperatures when compared to copper, which can withstand thermal change

Do tea and rooibos contain too much aluminum? |

While aluminum is the third most abundant element on Earth, it may not be good for our brain, something we learned studying foundry workers exposed to high levels. Although the role of aluminum in the development of brain diseases like Alzheimer’s is controversial, to be prudent, steps should probably be taken to lessen human exposure to this metal.
There are a number of aluminum-containing drugs on the market (like antacids, which have the highest levels), though aluminum compounds are also added to processed foods such as anti-caking agents in pancake mix, melting agents in American cheese, meat binders, gravy thickeners, rising agents in some baking powders and dye-binders in candy. Therefore, it’s better to stick to unprocessed, natural foods. But if you cook those natural foods in an aluminum pot, a significant amount of aluminum can leach into the food (compared to cooking in stainless steel).
When researchers tried the same experiment with tea, they got a few milligrams of aluminum regardless of what type of pot they used, suggesting that aluminum was in the tea itself. Indeed, back in the 1950s researchers noticed that tea plants tended to suck up aluminum from the soil. But it’s the dose that makes the poison. According to the World Health Organization, the provisional tolerable weekly intake—our best guess at a safety limit for aluminum—is two mg per healthy kilogram of body weight per week, which is nearly a milligram per pound. Someone who weighs around 150 pounds probably shouldn’t ingest more than 20 mg of aluminum per day.
Be healthy. Be loving.
Get daily tips for leading a healthy and compassionate life delivered to your inbox.
Up to a fifth of aluminum intake may come from beverages, so what we drink probably shouldn’t contribute more than about four mg a day, the amount found in about five cups of green, black or oolong tea. So should we not drink more than five cups of tea a day?
It’s not what you eat or drink, it’s what you absorb. If we just measured how much aluminum was in tea, it would seem as though a couple cups could double aluminum intake for the day. But if we measure the level of aluminum in people’s bodies after they drink tea, it doesn’t go up. This suggests that the bioavailability of aluminum in tea is low, possibly because most of the extractable aluminum in brewed tea is strongly bound to large phytonutrients that are not easily absorbed, so the aluminum just passes right through us without actually getting into our bodies. In fact, probably more than 90 percent of the aluminum in tea is bound up.
One study out of Singapore did show a large spike in aluminum excretion through the urine after drinking tea compared to water. The only way for something to get from our mouth to our bladder is to first be absorbed into our bloodstream. But the researchers weren’t comparing the same quantity of tea to water. They had the study subject chug down about eight and a half cups of tea, or drink water at their leisure. Therefore, the tea drinkers peed a lot more, so the aluminum content cup-for-cup was no different for tea versus water. This suggests that gross aluminum absorption from tea is unlikely and that only little aluminum is potentially available for absorption.
So although as few as four cups of tea could provide 100 percent of our daily aluminum limit, the percentage available for absorption in the intestine may be less than 10 percent. It is therefore unlikely that moderate amounts of tea drinking can have any harmful effects—for people with normal aluminum excretion. Tea may not, however, be a good beverage for children with kidney failure, since they can’t get rid of aluminum as efficiently. For most people, though, tea shouldn’t be a problem.
On a special note, if you drink tea out of a can, buy undented cans. The aluminum in dented cans can leach into the liquid, boosting aluminum levels by a factor of eight while sitting on store shelves for a year

Anodized aluminum plate is to place the Aluminum Plate in corresponding electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid, etc.) as the anode for electrolysis under specific conditions with externally applied current. The Aluminum Plate of the anode is oxidized and has an aluminum oxide film formed on the surface; the film is 5-20μm thick, and a hard anodic oxidation film can be up to 60-200μm thick. After anodization, the aluminum plate achieves greater hardness, better abrasive resistance (up to 250-500 kg/mm2), and good resistance to heat; the hard anodic oxidation film also features a melting point of up to 2320 K, excellent insulativity, high breakdown voltage (up to 2000V), and enhanced resistance to corrosion (it may stand salt spray under ω=0.03NaCl for thousands of hours without being corroded). Additionally, the oxide film is distributed with numerous pores that can absorb various lubricants, thus making the anodised aluminum plate suitable for manufacturing engine cylinder or other wear-resistant parts; the strong absorbability of the film can also be well utilized to form various bright colors.
Anodization process of aluminum plate
General principle of aluminum plate anodization generating aluminum oxide film
Selection of electrolyte for anodization of aluminum plate
Types of anodization of aluminum plate
Structure and properties of the oxide film formed during aluminum sheet anodization
Advantages of the anodised aluminum sheet
(1) Good processability: the anodised aluminum plate is strongly decorative, featuring moderate hardness and easy bending and shaping; it can be processed by continuous pressing at high speeds, and directly made into products without requiring complex surface treatment, thus having greatly reduced the production period and the production cost of products.
(2) Good weatherability: an anodised aluminum plate with oxide film of standard thickness (3μm) stands colorfast for a long time when it is used indoors, with no corrosion, oxidation or rusting; a thickened anodised aluminum plate (thickness of 10μm) can be used outdoors with colorfastness under long-time exposure to sunlight.
(3) Prominent metallic features: anodised aluminum plate may have their hardness on a par with gems and are well resistant to scratches; they have no paint coating on the surface and thus have retained the metallic gloss of aluminum sheets, protruding the modern metallic features and promoting the class and added value of the products.
(4) Good resistance to fire: as the anodised aluminum plate is purely made of metal without any paint or chemical substance, it neither combusts at a temperature as high as 600 degrees, nor generates any poisonous gas, and thus satisfies the requirements for environmental protection.
(5) Good resistance to dirt: the anodised aluminum plate retains no finger print, and thus no stains will be left; it can also be easily cleaned, without producing any corroded spot.
(6) Wide applicability: the anodised aluminum plate is widely used, and applicable to metal aluminum ceiling, curtain wall plate, aluminum composite panel, fireproof board, honeycomb aluminum panel, single aluminum sheet, electric appliance panel, cabinet panel, furniture panel, etc.
Application
The anodised aluminum plate are widely used in such fields as mechanical parts, airplane and automobile parts, precise instruments, wireless electrical appliances, building decorations, mechanical housing, illumination lamps, electronic consumables, art wares, household appliances, indoor decorations, sign boards, furniture automobile decorations, etc.
Anodized aluminum sheet is processed by anodizing based on aluminum sheet. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that forms a robust ceramic layer on the surface of aluminum sheet that is resistant to corrosion and UV. The anodized film is transparent, retains the appearance of the metal, and can be colored by electrolysis to provide a variety of color options.
Anodized aluminium sheet plate is widely used in machinery parts, aircraft auto parts, precision instruments and radio equipment, architectural decoration, machine shell, lighting lamps, electronic consumer goods, handicrafts, household appliances, interior decoration, signs, furniture, car decoration and other industries.
There are also many other names of anodized aluminium sheets, such as:
anodized mirror aluminum sheet
mirror finish anodized aluminum sheet

Aluminum Circle Blanks Used for Pots |

Aluminum circle blanks can be processed into many types of items, including pots, kettles, basins and lighting covers etc. It’s worth mentioning that aluminum circle blanks are usually welded or processed together with other materials in modern production of aluminum products, while in the past they were normally pressed into an integrated item directly. Take pots for example. A decade ago we used pots of both aluminum bodies and lids. Now, however, the base of a pot has been welded together to the body. The base may be of aluminum, the body steel, and the lid glass!

Aluminum circle blanks used for pots are usually of 1050, 1060, 1070 and 3003 alloys. The tempers include O, H12 and H14. Their thickness and width are made in accordance with specific requirements. The thickness ranges from 0.76mm to 6mm and the width 100mm to 1200mm. Aluminum circle blanks have been chosen as raw material for pots because of its satisfying physical and chemical properties. Cookware must have extraordinary heat conductivity as well as stable chemical performance, or else the food will be cooked very slowly, or it will react with material of cookware. There are lots of metals displaying excellent heat conductivity, but most are too active to be used for pots. Aluminum is regarded as a stable metal not because it does not reacts with other elements, but because during its quick reaction with oxygen in the air it produces oxide aluminum, a strongly stable material that hardly reacts with other materials.
Generally speaking, the quality of aluminum circle blanks for pots can be judged by their colors. Silver blanks are of natural aluminum color, which means there’s only a thin protective layer of oxide aluminum over the surface. Golden blanks show much stronger corrosion resistance than white ones, because they are coated with an extra layer of paintings after being anodized.
