Will a polished aluminum bicycle frame rust |

Do these frames rust? For example here is a link. But I am genuinely curious because in swimming pools, the hand rails going into the swimming pool have the same finish as this bike frame and they have white corrosion marks. Thank you in advancedRust refers to the oxidation of iron, so no it doesn\'t rust. Aluminium oxidates rapidly which usually increases its corrosion resistance. 6061 is a pretty standard aluminium alloy, which shouldn\'t corrode under normal circumstances. Certainly not in a well designed and maintained bicycle. Things that could decrease the corrosion resistance of your aluminium bike include: - contact with other metals that have a higher valence (+ contact with water). Could be caused by a poorly designed bike, but not very likely. - contact with chemicals/salts/alkalis - narrow spots (where water could be trapped) caused by poor design, production faults or a damaged surface. Corrosion in your swimming pool could be caused by the chemicals you use to kill the bacteria in the pool. How do you know it is the same material though?Pool handrails are more likely to be made of fairly high grade stainless steel than aluminium, so a different chemistry. And to be picky, rust is a word usually used for steel and iron only. So, while aluminium might not rust, it can certainly corrode, under the right circumstances. People using trainers have reported issues with their sweat doing damage to their bikes for instance.Best thing you can do for a polished Aluminium frame, is to firstly polish it, wipe down with a wax and grease remover, and then spray with a 2 pak clear coat. You will save yourself many years of polishing in the future.pool rails will not be the same thing as bike aluminum bikes are not immersed in water aluminum cannot rust though it might corrode in salt water or air wleOther related question

Can you please answer this question about the MacBook Aluminum |

I am thinking about getting a MacBook Aluminum or a MacBook white. The Aluminum is 2.0 GhZ and the MacBook White is 2.16 GhZ. which should i get? also i am really wondering if you can upgrade the processors in both MacBooks..... Please give me link if you can. THANKS!!The aluminum will definitely be faster than the white one assuming those clock speeds are accurate. The 2.16 is an older model with an early Core 2, slower RAM, and a much slower video card. And you cannot swap the CPU in any of Apple\'s laptops made over the past decade or so.fwiw, the macbook (the two variations) are the two laptops. a computer is a sort of computer (computer or very own computer) not a kind or kind. I actually have a white iBook G4 (the sequence before the macbooks have been first presented. i do some customary upkeep and cleansing it approximately as quickly as a month. it would not get too grimy. for what you\'re using it for, it would not sound such as you like the greater memory/capability that the aluminum has to offer. the bells and whistles of it are high-quality, yet once you\'re purely getting it for that and not the greater capability, then there is rather no choose for it. the whtie macbook remains a good computer. my 2 cents. If okorder.com/... I\'m not sure about the processor\'s. I dont use Mac that often!Other related question

what is aluminum pigment paint in the scratch cards of lottory?is it metalic or organic sabstance like latex? They mix aluminum or just about any opaquing material with a wax-like coating that will be easily scratched off. The early tries at this were defeated with strong lasars and cards could be read and be selected to be handed to confederates. Very fine AL power is available and is a safe product and is very opaque and cheep.Yes its aluminium metal. Finely divided aluminium powder is dispersed in a polymer resin as used for paint.Other related question

SWALLOWING ALUMINUM FOIL |

Okay, so i swallowed some aluminum foil like the size of a quarter from my fruit rollup wrapper, ha don\'t ask why? but my stomach KINDA hurts right now...like 2 minutes later.. Could this have done any damage to me.?You\'ll be fine! It should ball up and you\'ll eventually pass it! (BLAH) My dog actually ate an entire aluminum foil cupcake tin once! He passed it in a day or 2 (Not that I\'m comparing you to a dog! But same kinda thing!) Your stomach kinda hurts probably cause you\'re freaking out! Our minds like to play tricks on us that way. But if you end up getting lower abdo pain in the next 12-24 hours (sharp, stabbing) then better get it checked out! Good Luck! Watch out for those wrappers next time! haNah, you should be fine. It\'s not the brightest move in the world, but considering that the size is so small and that fruit rollup wrappers are mostly plastic not foil, you should be fine.lol... You should be fine. But it may hurt a little coming out the other end? I don\'t know. One thing I do know: I swallowed a penny when I was a child and never had any trouble.Other related question

Can I get aluminum powder through electrolysis |

I did electrolysis by adding aluminum to the ends of the wire. I waited about 2 hours, and then I filtered the water. After it dried, I was left with powder. It\'s gray.It that aluminum powder or something else? I\'m making thermite, if its not aluminum powder will it still work?Kinda sorta, the problem with this is that all you did was made aluminium oxide or hydroxide, when you electrolyzed the aluminium you also electrolyzed a bit of water with it, which added a hydroxyl group to the aluminum, which may have dropped a hydrogen when you dried it. If you could find an aluminium compound that is water soluble (DAMNED HARD to find) you could electrolyze it in water to get aluminium dust in the water, but that isnt very reliable or economical, the best thing for you to do is to get a ball mill or rock tumbler, add aluminium fold and about half full of regular marbles, let it run for 3 or so weeks. You need it really fine!Other related question

Aren\'t metals in general (and aluminium in particular) excellent heat conductors?Yes aluminium is a good heat conductor, which is why it is used as a heatsink to dissipate heat from electronic components like the CPU in you laptop. The idea of the aluminium stand for your laptop is to raise it up from the desktop surface, allowing air to pass between the gap and extract the heat from the aluminium stand as your laptop heats up with use.Other related question

What is the best thing to use on aluminum to end existing rust and stop it from |

This aluminum is on a mobile home. I trying to repaint it and there is alot of areas were rust has ate the metal away. Especially in the seams. How can I get rid of the rust that already exists and stop it from coming back.aluminum doesn\'t rust but it does corrode I think they make a navel jelly for aluminum they should sell it at the hardware store just follow the directions on the bottlePlease check with a place like home depot. You could use some steel wool, to get some of the rust off, then paint over tha area with rustoleum. That helps prevent rust, Hope this helps.Aluminum doesn`t rust. This is probably tin. If a magnet sticks to it, treat and paint as you would steel.Uh......... aluminum doesn\'t rust. Has to be some iron in there somewhere.Other related question

Does anyone know why Mercury Thimerosal is used in Flu Vaccinations and where Me |

Does anyone know why Mercury -(Thimerosal) is used in Flu Vaccinations and where Mercuryisnot used Aluminium in other vaccines ? While these are known to be toxic metals, can these cause headaches, severe hot burning heads and or Sinusitus ?Thimerosal is not the same as mercury. It\'s a mercury-based preservative which to prevent the growth of germs, bacteria and fungi, that can contaminate them. It\'s used in seasonal flu vaccine because the vaccine is produced in large quantities and often in multi-dose vials. Thimerosal helps safeguard against possible contamination of the vial once it is opened. The aluminum in vaccines is aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, alum (potassium aluminum sulfate), or mixed aluminum salts. They\'re an adjuvant added to enhance the immune response in the vaccinated individual. Whether or not something is toxic has to do with how much a person receives not the substance itself. People can die from drinking too much water, but we don\'t go around calling water toxic. The amount of mercury or aluminum in vaccines is so small that it\'s not toxic. You ingest more mercury by eating fish and a baby ingest more aluminum in breast milk than they get in a vaccine. So if mercury and aluminum caused head aches, severe hot burning heads or sinusitis in a person, that person would have a lot more to worry about than vaccines since they would be exposed to those things in so many other ways.Toxicity is about dose. The dose of mercury in the flu vaccine is minute and cannot possibly contribute to mercury poisoning. In any case, Thimerosal converts to ethylmercury in the body which is quickly broken down and excreted - unlike methylmercury which is the mercury you are thinking about. A tuna fish sandwich will give you more mercury than any vaccine. Thimerosal is a preservative basically, which is why it is added to the multi-dose vial. If you are that paranoid about it, ask for the single dose vial to be used.It costs several cents more to manufacture 10 single dose vials that do not require mercury, than one multi-dose vial that does require mercury. Your health is worth just a few cents to these people. Aluminum is used in non-live virus vaccines in order to cause inflammation in the body, which produces a stronger immune response to the vaccine.Other related question
