Is it ok to use aluminimum foil with discoloration? - Tyeshacon - 10-17-2018 No, because the discoloration means that the suface of the aluminum foil is destroied. The oxidation film on the surface of aluminum foil can prevent aluminum foil form corrosion and keep it safe when contact with food. The discoloration means that the oxidation film is damaged, it is not safe any more, so do not use it to warp food or cooking with it any more. RE: Is it ok to use aluminimum foil with discoloration? - ohapuqa - 10-17-2018 I wouldn't. old aluminum if it's got a white powder on it is heavily oxidized. if its a gray color something. who knows what has contaminated it. funny. was just talking to a friend he was unaware Aluminum is linked to Alzheimers when used with high acid foods. he also didn't realize how reactive Aluminum is. but if the truth be known. the only people who actually see aluminum are the people welding it with high frequency AC from a tungsten arc . and only while the arc is melting the aluminum. the second aluminum is exposed to air. it forms oxide coatings. |
