What is a 1050A pure aluminum alloy? - 1-LVDCPN - 09-19-2018

1050 aluminium alloy is an aluminium-based alloy in the "commercially pure" wrought family (1000 or 1xxx series). As a wrought alloy, it is not used in castings. Instead, it is usually formed by extrusion or rolling. It is commonly used in the electrical and chemical industries, on account of having high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and workability. 1050 alloy is also sometimes used for the manufacture of heat sinks, since it has a higher thermal conductivity than other alloys. It has low mechanical strength compared to more significantly alloyed metals. It can be strengthened by cold working, but not by heat treatment

Aluminium / aluminum alloys are extremely useful low-temperature alloys. aluminum 1050A alloy is a wrought alloy type with good corrosion resistance, high strength, high ductility, and a highly reflective finish.
Aluminium / aluminum 1050A alloy can be welded using both TIG and MIG methods. The filler that is used is mostly aluminium / aluminum 4043 or 1050 alloy. Annealing of aluminium / aluminum 1050 alloy can be performed at 350°C (662°F). T4 is the commonly used tempering process for this alloy. The alloy is solution heat treated and naturally aged to gain a very stable condition.

Standard: GB/T4437.1-2000
Characteristics and scope of 1050A aluminium alloy application:
Industrial pure aluminum alloy sheet has the characteristics of high plasticity, corrosion resistance, good conductivity and thermal conductivity, but low strength, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, poor machinability, acceptable contact welding, gas welding.

Silicon Si:0.25
Iron Fe:0.40
Copper Cu:0.05
Magnesium Mg:0.05
Zinc Zn:0.07
Manganese Mn:0.05

Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength is B (MPa):60 ~ 100.
(6.00-50.00mm) elongation rate A5.65C/ (%): greater than 28
Elongation A50mm/ (%): greater than 15

Sample size: all wall thickness
Heat treatment specification:
1. Rapid annealing: heating temperature 350-410; with the effective thickness of the material, the holding time is between 30-120 minutes; air or water cooling.
2. High temperature annealing: heating temperature 350-500 C; finished product thickness (> 6 mm), holding time 10-30 min, < 6 mm, heat penetration until; air cooling. 3) low temperature annealing: heating temperature of 150~250 degrees; holding time of 2 ~ 3H; air or water cooling.
