CPU packaging for shipping - PattiObrya - 01-16-2020

I need to send my cpu to someone by courierThe problem is I dont have the small plastic cover in which the cpu is placed when bought newI do have the outer box thoughAll i want to know is how and in what should I pack my cpu urgently and preferably in simple easily available stuff ? ThanksAny bright ideas? Can I pack it in ordinary plastic bags filled with cotton to cushion it or is static going to be a problem ?This is a CPU with no pins, correct? It has flat metal spots on the bottom - lands? If so, you can simply wrap it in an anti-static bag and then wrap it in bubble sheet or provide other similar physical protectionIf it has pins, find a piece of foam and cut it to the size of the CPUWrap the foam in a layer of aluminum foil and then press the pins through the aluminum foil into the foamThen wrap in an anti-static bagYou don\'t want the CPU to be able to move at all in the packagingHard packaging works better than soft packaging.Other related question
