How do I make diamond plate finish appearance for sheet metal in solidworks? - 1-LVDCPN - 01-11-2018 I have SW 2018. I am a new user. How can I get parts to look like bright shiny aluminum diamond plate? RE: How do I make diamond plate finish appearance for sheet metal in solidworks? - aluhm - 01-11-2018 Go to the feature tree. right click on the part name at the very top, then click on the four colored sphere. The first item in the drop box is the part color, click on that. Then the appearance tab should open. dig down in the tree for Appearances>Metal>Aluminum>Aluminum Treadplate. Double click. Your part now looks like treadplate. You do have to have realview turned on to see this. That is done by going to the heads-up display (the transparent toolbar at the top of the model viewing area), and selecting the one on the far right. That will drop down with a few options, the first one should be to toggle RealView on or off. It needs to be on.
