Full Version: The Performance Of 5A05 Aluminum Alloy

The 5A05 aluminum plate is an Al-Mg rust-proof aluminum alloy, which cannot be heat-treated. The alloy has high magnesium content and a lower strength, similar to the 5A03 alloy. Cold deformation of the alloy can increase the strength, but the plasticity decreases. The plasticity in the annealed state is high, and the plasticity in the semi-cold hardening state is acceptable. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is good enough for welding, spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, and argon arc welding. The machinability is poor in the annealed state, and the semi-cold hardening state is still good.

5A05 aluminum alloy is commonly used for the manufacture of welded pipes, welded mailboxes and other liquid containers, and other parts that require high process plasticity, good corrosion resistance, moderate loads, and wire rods used as electrodes and rivets that require anodizing. In foreign countries, similar alloys (such as 5454 aluminum plate) are used to make armor plates and high-strength structural parts, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and marine supplies.
