Full Version: I'm going to paint my aluminum horse trailer. I have 3 choices; which would be best?

I am sorry to say that if those are your only choices then you may as well not do it.

   Unless you prepare aluminum so that it is clinically clean and then make sure it remains that way while applying the paint (in an enclosed room that has had walls, ceiling, and floor cleaned, with the floor wetted with water) then your results will be less than good.
   Then there is the remaining preparation- with aluminum you will have to use an etching primer and follow instructions to a "T" and then apply the color strictly according to instructions.

It may seem that the commercial trailer painters charge a lot for the work they do but they really don't. If the job is done right it'll last a long time.
