Good morning everyone.
What thickness aluminium checker plate are people using for the garage area?
Cheers in advance.
I know u want info on garage flooring, but this stuff would be ideal for you. Prob cheaper than checker plate too. It’s the Best thing we ever done on the floor of our wheelchair accessible ramped rear crew cab van was add… it was either 9mm or 12mm not sure which in the end, anti slip trailer, rubber matting on ply. As used on farm tractors and lorry’s etc too. No one ever slipped even when soaking wet.
Wheelchair and scooters never ever moved even without straps on. Made the van so quiet and so much warmer. Waterproofed the rear of the crew cab van for 10 years too. No damage to metal floor at all.
This stuff was heavy but is used by a local to trailer maker and quality stuff (not cheap). It Was slatted so any water from rain etc ran out of back doors from scooter / wheelchairs etc.
Had rubble, bricks etc in there. Half ton of gravels, rubbish, and abused it and could never tell as never aged. This mat was a reenforced matting and so tough. After 10 years a mop made it look like new every time. Removed after 10 years when crew cab was taken out n fitter bigger bit. Old bit got sold n still in use in another van as sold crew cab conversion.
Pic was the flooring I’m on about. Fantastic stuff. Can find out make etc if anyone want to know. Have to ask trailer place for info. Great non slip flooring as I said n as tough as old boots. Oil resistant etc too. Spoilt loads of oil n diesel n chemicals on it over the years n didn’t affect it at all. Would be great floor insulation in a garage
